great pattern
American Duchess, the creators of the pattern, worked hard to bring an easy to understand and use pattern to us through Simplicity. They have videos to help even new sewists end up with a well made stays the first time out.

My Size Barbie is quite the doll, worth every penny, Id like 3 more!
1 of 1 found this helpful My Size Barbies are fun to sew and design clothing for, their larger size (than traditional fashion size dolls) makes them an ideal doll for the beginning sewist, it translates to larger bits of fabric to work with and yet, not as much as you'd use for a big person, so trying new techniques in stitch and style means less waste, more creativity.
This would make a wonderful gift to a young person interested in learning the basics of pattern drafting, paired with a basic sewing machine, some fabric and tools, and your young designer could become an internationally famous clothing mogul someday!! Or, a slightly obsessed doll collector with to many nekkid dollys and not enough time to sew for them all.
Its fun to stand them in a corner to wait till they catch someone's eye..
Or pose them in the yard doing silly things..
But mostly they get stood in the living room, half dressed, with fabulous straw hats on.
As a child the MSB would not have been a toy that I treasured, but as a grandma who loves to sew, she's kind of a dream come true.
The only downsides to this doll is its limited posing ability. She can stand, sit straight legged.. and that is it.
