VERY GOOD reading and Many Historical Facts!
Not fast reading, but very easy to read. I lived in the region and know some of the facts; which helped me make a connection with this author. MANY historical facts about people, places and things in the area. The area being southwestern, WA state through the northern section of OR and a bit of ID and MT. The information is quite accurate and interesting. Even though I lived there for 30 years, I learned something from this book. The author touches on the challenges of that time period regarding the Native Americans and White relationships. Author was very honest about things. Didn't try to whitewash the facts, but did so respectfully.
This is Book one in a series of three books. Covering the entire life of the main character. I will read all of them.

Lightweight, Soft Earplugs that Work Great!
1 of 1 found this helpful I have chickens. Five of my chickens are roosters. Two of them crow very loud at the crack of dawn. Right now, they start crowing at 4:30 a.m. The pasture is about 200 feet from my bedroom.
So, I got these earplugs to cut down the noise. I'm grateful to say, that these earplugs cut the noise about 95%. Plenty to let me go back to sleep.
These work so well, that I can't even hear my alarm clock. And the clock runs on a 'C' battery, which makes the alarm loud!
The only reason I give this 4 stars is, it takes a bit of adjusting to get the earplugs to block noise. They're foam, so I roll them with my thumb and index finger into a small cylinder-like shape, and quickly insert the earplug into my ear canal. Then I hold it in place for a few seconds to give the foam time to expand. If not done quickly, the earplug doesn't always stay in my ear. Once I got used to doing this, the earplugs worked perfect.
I only use the same pair 3-4 times, or moisture from the ear can cause the earplugs not to work so well.

Good, predicable reading on a lazy, do-nothing kind of day.
This review is NOT about the book. It IS about the seller! It's nice to buy from a seller who is so polite, friendly and personable!
The seller was very very FAIR in her pricing.
I am quite sure she mailed the book the SAME DAY I won it! I'm still trying to figure out how the book arrived from Texas to Washington state in one day!
Okay. About the book. . .it's a typical Cassie Edwards book. Nothing too earth-shattering, but makes for good reading in the tub or out on the patio on a lazy day. If you like a predictable romance novel, that's not too over-the-top with the romance, then buy this author's book/s.
