28 minutes cut from original release
1 of 1 found this helpful I keep a list of hard to find DVDs, and this was one of them. There are 2 versions of this available, but sadly, 28 minutes have been cut from the original 3 hours & 9 minute release, Both DVD versions are 2 hours & 41 minutes.
But, for now, these are the only 2 versions available. (MGM & non MGM). Hopefully, one day, we will see the uncut version available on DVD.

Great Series. Horrible packaging.
Everyone knows how entertaining this series is. What was most surprising is when I opened the DVD set, and about 6 discs came flying out. Horrendous packaging. Discs stacked in fours, hardly able to stay in the spindles. I had to take them out of the case and stack them all in a empty CDR case. I suggest you buy the series by seasons. This box set has terrible packaging.

Very good stereo versions of classic big band songs
This is a nice budget box set, if you would like to hear Glenn Miller & other big bands in stereo. The orchestra is anonymous. But, it does say 'BBC Presents'. Could be the BBC Big Band. The 6 discs average about 33 minutes a disc, so they obviously could have put all the selections on 3 CDs. But, for the budget price, I am swingin'. Great remakes of classics.
