Happy I found this part!
Our Kitchenaid blender is 8 years old. Motor runs great but the teeth in this coupler wore out and caused the pitcher to leak. We read all the reviews and instructions on several sites. The installation technique that worked for us was to remove the bottom plate and hold the blade steady while unscrewing the coupler.
A cheap fix to make our blender work new again!
