One of the best modern werewolf filmd
I had watched this several times prior to purchasing- and it still remains a staple on free streaming services- and still wanted it added to my permanently library with this.
Despite being a werewolf "snob," (honestly, after The Howling & American Werewolf in London at the very top of my list, I barely need more than one hand- Howl now included- that I even put on that 2nd tier in the genre,) not just in the genre, but a werewolf's appearance on screen... despite finding Howl's particular vision of the creature being out of my normal range of preference (grew to love it) the film is perhaps only 2nd (to Dog Soldiers- also a UK release- interesting,) the story of a broken down train & its passengers fighting off a pack of werewolves is just well engineered with acting & characters that are compelling.
This has become a favorite goto when I'm unsure of what to watch, and from me, that's a high mark of recommendation.

Makes Me Nervous About Upcoming Evil Dead Rise Film
If you're unfamiliar with the two "proper" Demons films (Italy, where these were made, attempted to capitalize on their popularity by further use of the Demons name, but those films are not entries into this series,) and are a fan of series such as Return of the Living Dead or Evil Dead... Make yourself familiar, even if this 4K limited release is no longer available, find them on DVD or streaming. You won't be disappointed.
The series follows demonic outbreaks- the first in a theater where free passes have been given out by a nefarious figure; and the second (and why I'm a tad hesitant on the entire concept of Evil Dead Rise,) in a high rise apartment complex (the very plot known about EDR).
The Demons add to their numbers much like any zombie film- although as little as a scratch here will lead to the inevitable and have the insatiable need to pass that infection along.
This 4K set is stunning- as an owner of them on DVD, I was running them concurrently and flipping between the two, to be blown away by the care taken. There is some carried-over image distortion in Demons 2, which is a fault from the chosen film stock chosen when filming, but its appearance is short.
Alternate versions are on offer, as well as an excellent original artwork poster, and my two (which may seem silly to non-hardcore lovers of these films,) favorites- a "ticket" to the theater in Demons & an "invitation" to the birthday party where the outbreak begins in Demons 2. (These are printed on cardboard stock, and their reverse sides offer information about each film's transfer to 4K).
Neither film is for the squeamish, but not beyond the realm of the movies I offered in compare. What does stand out in the first film is a soundtrack chock full of 80s bands- not sure how the likes of Motley Crue, Rick Springfield, Go West and Billy Idol.
These are incredible, memorable films in a decade that stands out as possibly the single greatest decade in horror, in the best available format to view them... which should tell you all you need to know, if a fan of horror, on whether or not you should add these to your collection.
