Does a superior job at a reasonable price
We use a well to water our yard and gardens, but have never found a sprinkler that could push the water with much force or distance. After years of this, I just assumed the problem was poor pump pressure, and that no sprinkler would then be able to throw water very far. Then I tried the neighbor's old Melnor sprinkler--what a difference! So I looked online to see if I could find a new one like that old one they have. Melnor does indeed make the same sprinkler today. The only real difference is while the old one was all metal construction, the new one has a black plastic cover at the back end where you connect the hose. I'm very satisfied with the performance of this sprinkler--I can now water a much larger swath of the yard at a time.

I first heard of this album on a public radio talk show, where they played a sample from the song "Cinnamon Tree." This is a very high quality jazz album. Her voice and instrumental work is highly regarded in jazz circles. Her "Cinnamon Tree" is soothing and mellow; its lyrics have a beautiful and poetic quality--my favorite cut.

Scholarly but Accessible
This book is a great introduction to theology in Asia. Chan rightly observes that the theologians that are shaping the churches in Asia are not the western educated, well-known elites, but the "grassroots" lesser-known theologians such as Watchman Nee, Vishal Mangalwadi and others. He is also careful to point out that if churches in Asia are to be part of the universal church, then their theology must not be done in isolation from other historic expressions--there is a need to plug into a metatheology--the overarching theological tradition of the universal Christian church.
Chan begins with the topic of methodology, then to a discussion of the Asian contexts, and then he moves to theological categories: humanity and sin, Christ and salvation, the Holy Spirit and spirituality, and the Church. As a pentecostal theologian, he does now and then argue that the pentecostal tradition is well-suited to proclaiming the gospel effectively to those living in an Asian context. And yet he skillfully engages Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant theologies. This is a must read for anyone wanting to better understand today's Asian context and the theologies emerging from that region.
