You get what you pay for, but works alright for reference.
5 of 6 found this helpful This is a cheap knock-off of a real Mitutoyo caliper or Mitutoyo has really went down hill. Comparing it to my real Mitutoyo caliper I use for machining and is very well built, this supposedly Japanese made caliper shows all the quality of China. The plastic used in the molded body is cheap and full of sink marks. The battery door is cheap, hard to assemble and snap lock will not last. The plastic used appears brittle and thumb wheel is held in place with this cheap plastic and I expect it will break after short use. The fit of the sliding head is loose, compared to my real Mitutoyo caliper. The readout shows 3 decimal places in inches setting, whereas my good caliper is accurate to the 1/2 thousandth it shows. The repeatability seems to be within .001", but this is after using light firm pressure and is easy to get it to vary .002-.003" with any form medium pressure. Overall; the caliper is what I expected so that's why I rated it at a good value. Basically; you get what you pay for. It will work for the wood shop, although I was hoping it was a little robustly made.

Quantum Casters
Quantum casters are heavy duty and well made. Everything seems to work just fine even with a heavy load. Quantum products are on the pricey side, but if you want something that will last, these should do the task.
