Better than I expected
The quick preview of the book gives the impression that it's elementary.
But oh, it's so much more. I find it inspiring and encouraging, and even thought
I haven't felt like my prayer life needed a boost, I find much in here to supplement
my prayer life and make it richer.

I love it
1 of 1 found this helpful The voices are wonderful. It's read by many different women and each one puts her heart into it. I've been wishing for a Bible read by women, and am so glad I found this. The chapter readings are done with enthusiasm. I wish there was the Old Testament, too!
This is the New Century Version which I really enjoy listening to as well. I am well familiar with King James and NIV. I love hearing the words I'm familiar with written a different way. This translation, and the International Children's Bible, have helped give clarity to certain passages that used to pass over my head. It's not that I swallow every thing I read or hear in the NCV as a perfect translation of the original. But it's like having someone say, "Have you considered looking at it this way?"
Very happy with this purchase.

Amplified Bible is an important one in my library
When I read a verse that speaks to me in some way, or makes me ask questions, I want to know what other translations say about it.
The Amplified Bible is one of the first other translations I turn to in order to get the sense of what the verse is saying.
Very grateful for this translation.
