It may look weak, but it can just about beat aiptek...
1 of 1 found this helpful I have own most of the DXG camcorders since 2002 and every different version of camcorder they have come out with over the past 7 years just keeps getting better.
When you pair this up with very good batterys or rechargable mah2300 or mah 2400 it can last a very good while even with rayovac alkaline that would come from a super market the camera won't gobble it down in under an hour.
Usually it would take less than 2 hours for high quality batterys and rechargables in under 3 hours if you constantly have it on.
This 565v camcorder can take great pictures and good movies wether your outside or inside with the proper lighting.
When you get this it may look intimidating but it's not, 2 things that DXG really focused on was giving the conusmer more room to work the buttons on the back of the camcorder.
If you have big hands you can or should be able to easily grip this and take pictures without blinding the flash like the DXG 305 and DXG 506v did.
One thing I could I didn't like about this little camcorder is being able to erease something quickly without screwin around with the navigation menu.
If you see this little camera on ebay going on sale for under 50.00 with a buy-it-now option go ahead and get the camcorder. really. these things sell for much higher if its brand new slightly used or somebody selling it off to pay off bills which I can understand greatly.
I wouldn't recommend this for a little kid, if they drop it and the LCD cracks and DXG won't repair it do to warranty coverage, you would really have to hold your wrath dearly and try not to kill the kid.
This would be great for long trips partys or hide this easily while recording and catch somebody in the act doing something they have no business doing...
There is newer version of this camcorder, it's a DXG 579, it has the same design and features and offers hd recording, but the way I see it the dxg 565v could easily give you the results you want.
