Doesn't Really Work as Described
I've purchased a lot of camera / DVR equipment for customer installs and to protect my own home. This DVR (The "Q7") just doesn't work as described. First, you turn the device on and connect via the WAN to configure the WiFi. That can be tricky because you need to connect to the Q7 directly and after about 4 minutes the device no longer accepts commands. I bought TWO of these devices and both do the same thing. So I was able to configure the WiFi and able to log onto the devices. I added TF (SD Cards) to both devices. I configured the options the way I wanted them and then they disappear again (go offline)! Restart the devices and they re-appear without my configuration saved. My suggestion is keep your money and find something that will work better for you.

Very Decent Laptop
2 of 2 found this helpful I own one of these laptops and have been an owner for almost three years. I use the laptop for many things: Keeping close to my friends on social networks, checking e-mail, LAN configurations, VPN connections, WiFi connections, etc. I have been a "Big Blue" guy through and through but HP Compaq has come up with a very serviceable laptop. Money is precious and hard to part with but when you are considering a new or even gently used laptop, The HP Compaq 6715b is still a good contender.

Great Little Security System!
I've had security cameras in my home for years now. If you have, you know the pain of using wired cameras that look great but the setup is cumbersome and the wireless cameras that you can plug and play but the image quality is poor and interferes with the 2.4 GHz WiFi. The ZOSI cameras with the NVR just simply addresses both setups nicely.
- Plug and Play: Camera setup is literally the easiest I have seen. You plug the cameras into the NVR using a standard network cable and the NVR does the rest. Unplug the network cable and almost instantly it is communicating wirelessly. Best part is... my home WiFi still works!
- NVR: You'll need at least a terabyte drive (mine did not come with any), but installing it is easy. The NVR allows you to connect to the Cloud using the QR Code and signing in with the password you set. From there you can not only see the cams but you can configure options on the NVR. Speaking of options, there are quite a few, including but not limited to: Screen preferences, OSD placement, motion detection settings, DDNS settings, Email notification, Software updates for NVR and Cameras, Camera and Hard Drive Settings, etc.
- Cameras: Clear, sharp 720p displays. Even outside in pitch darkness. Not too many dropouts either (your setup will vary of course depending on where your antennas are and how far you place the cameras). The DVR will also tell you using a WiFi icon what your signal looks like for EACH CAMERA. Note that the cameras are a bit larger and heavier.
Dislikes: Really only two and not deal breakers. The first one: Currently the motion detection can be scheduled but only allows the time to be set, not the day. So for example, if you turn on notifications and you want to watch your house when you are not there during the week but you're home on the weekends, you might need to turn detection off unless you want 1000 emails sent. Two: If you don't want to turn on the Cloud features, it does not currently let you disable it. I use DDNS, so I don't really need all the Cloud features. Both of these things might be changed in future updates; in fact, when I installed the NVR I couldn't schedule the motion detection, but then I performed an update and voila!
The ZOSI cameras with DVR is pricey, but worth it. If you are considering this, just get it. It's awesome.
