I needed more amps. to run my dual electric cooling fans & upgraded a/c system ( classic air ). I ran a 6 gauge auxiliary power wire from the alternator to the battery and a separate 6 gauge ground wire from the alternator to the block. I now have 14.85 volts to the battery. When I turn on the a/c ( it automatically engages the cooling fans ) and the headlights I have 13.60 volts at the battery. This is very good direct fit alternator.
