    The boards have a pronounced bend along the length
    The boards have a pronounced bend along the length which can not be straightened. If you want to have a flat board these do not satisfy that. If the bend does not matter the board will be just fine.

    It is the basic clock with no fixing
    If you want a basic clock with no fixing this will do the job. Making your own mount will be interesting if you want flexible mounting that is rigid enough to get accurate readings. I am happy with it.

    12v vs 5v versions
    I have the 12v and 5v kinds of this one. The 5v is more sensitive to higher data rates. I think the 12v one gets hotter. I have not tested the torque. I recommend you read other reviews on google.
