Water for farming?
This is probably one of the most illuminating and concise explications of the "development" of irrigation water sources in the most productive farming region of the world. Dr. Garone is a native son of the Central Valley of California and knows whereof he speaks. He also makes it very clear the tremendous losses of natural environment that were costs of this "development", costs to be paid out of everybody's pockets, in subsidizing the agricultural uses of the rivers and ground waters of this area.

Far Side plus your weight workout all at once!!
Here it is folks, ALL of the Far-Side presented in a format worthy of the fanciest limited editions of books of the frescos of Michelangelo or the paintings of Renoir. It weighs well over ten pounds all beautiful color separation on heavy glossy paper... a high quality item all the way around, which makes the thought of Far Side this way even a little funnier. Of course if you don't like Far Side, you won't like this.

you get what you pay for I guess
The first time I wore these, I initially thought, not too bad walking on hard dirt roads and slopes. within half an hour some of the rubber straps on each crampon that hold the teeth to the sole of the boot had broken, leaving metal teeth dangling and grabbing weeds in the dirt and a hazard to trying to move.
