This torch works well
There are quite a few compact butane torches from which to choose. Here was my criteria: the torch must be truly compact (under 6" tall), have a stable base, and have a nozzle which is at a right angle to the body. This may seem trivial, however, if the nozzle rises upwards, you are forced to lift your elbow in order to achieve the proper angle when utilizing the torch. As for function, I am impressed by the clever child-proof trigger feature, the overall build quality, and the adjustability of the flame output. Also, the barrel/grip surface is a suede-like texture instead of smooth/slippery plastic. This provides a real positive grip which pointing a 2,500 degree flame. Note: Be careful not to overfill the reservoir. A 5 second discharge from the butane cylinder is required to fully charge the torch. More than this amount will upset the balance between pressurized butane and air, and the torch will not function.

Just the right bag
1 of 1 found this helpful I have been looking for an odor-proof bag for backpacking , and finally found this one . Eureka !
I got two 12 x 20 inch bags for 2-4 day trips . $14 !
They are super duty plastic , and the ziplock closure is serious . I love the shape for packing my pack , and being able to see exactly what I have at a glance is satisfying to a silly degree while camping . I have only used one of them on three trips so far , but with reasonable care they should last a long while .
These bags represent value . Buy them .

A marriage of form & function !
I use this copper kettle to boil water in my travel trailer when I make coffee. In addition to looking cool and stylish in a kinda retro way, it is quite functional as well. The top lid is large enough to easily add water from my sink. The bottom is slightly recessed from the perimeter, and this helps concentrate my propane flame on the underside , instead of allowing the flames to migrate and lick up the side of the kettle. When the water boils, the whistle is quite clear and sound. Pouring water from the spout is a breeze since the spout lifts up and out of the way and locks into position with a them latch on the handle.
My work here is done.
