A guide for harmonious, productive crocheting!
This is the original edition of this book, and the first in a series. To be honest, I have not read the new books of the same title and don't know if they are the same. When I am travelling, this is the one, single book I pack in the suitcase...just in case I find a new yarn store! I have probably purchased 10 copies within the past few years, as "graduation presents" for people I seduce into the joys of crocheting. Individual stitches are clearly illustrated. Photographs are all clear (and seductive). Instructions are both written line-by-line, and represented in 'symbol crochet'...much easier to follow in a complicated pattern!
As much as I love this book, be aware that not ALL of the subsequent volumes are NEW stitches.
If you are beginning your adventures with crocheting (with, or without a human mentor), and can only afford a single book...this is the one. The "Double Base Chain" instructions on page four are worth more (in time and aggravation saved) than the price of a much larger book!
