Older but still great!
6 of 6 found this helpful Even though new camcorders are moving away from mini tapes for those of us who like to edit on the computer they are still the best solution. They are also still the best for quality of image (note they are used in most high end camcorders). I have the Panasonic PV GS320 500 (older and much more expensive) and absolutely love it. Great video and even in low light the quality isn't bad.
It's having the 3 sensors. So when looking for a gift for my son's family this seemed the best option within a reasonable price. Still has the 3 sensors and uses the mini tapes, low light video is fine. It's smaller so easier to stash in a large pocket or purse. No mic jack though and sound is an issue with camcorders. I usually wind up laying down a music track to solve those issues.
I my opinion this camcorder used was a better buy than many of the new ones using media that compresses the video.
