Extra special flavor
1 of 1 found this helpful My son loves to cook and had used some Watkins vanilla. He encouraged me to purchase more, then used the Watkins vanilla in simple shortbread cookies. Everyone who has tasted the cookies says that they are extra good. It has to be the Watkins vanilla that makes the difference. I am sold on the product. It is a little more expensive than the grocery store brand, but is well worth it. I would heartily recommend Watkins vanilla!

New England Outpost brings the history of Deerfield to life!
My interest in family history took me to the colonial town of Deerfield, Massachusetts. I purchased this book to learn more about the town and its history. I found it to be an excellent, well-researched source of information. The author presents the history and trials of those who settled and resettled the town in an easy to follow format. Sometimes histories become tedious reading, but that is not the case with this book. It allows the reader to follow the settlers in their difficulties and marvel at those who lived there. It was a plus that many of my own ancestors are mentioned in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the town of Deerfield or in early Massachusetts history in general. It is a very good source.

The story of Mary Dyer told in a very readable and enjoyable format!
I purchased this book because I descend from Mary Dyer and wanted to learn more about her. There are many synopses of her life available on the Web, but none discuss her life and times as thoroughly as this book does. I appreciated the historical accuracy of the telling as well as the insight in Mary herself. She was a woman quite unsuited to her time, but we are unable to ignore the legacy she left. I found the book quite enjoyable to read; it did not read like a textbook as some biographies do. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about not only Mary Dyer but also other prominent Massachusetts and Rhode Island figures of her day.
