Hardware failure after a few months of normal use.

BEWARE.
Hardware failure occurred after a few months of purchase. Was working fine for first few months but yesterday the phone started saying the SIM card wasn't installed. Immediately took the phone to the store and they confirmed it was a hardware failure with the SIM card reader - no other SIM card would work in my phone, and the SIM card I had originally worked when installed in a different phone.
Phone was in protective OtterBox case and had a screen protector on - was never dropped/handled harshly.
