Wrinting that rings true and pack a punch!

I recently read Enid Shomer's collection of short stories, Tourist Season, which I ordered because I lived on the same corridor at Wellesley College and greatly respected her then. I was blown away by those beautifully crafted stories. The story about the almost-under-age girl and the local sheriff is heart-rending, and its relationship to an earlier story in the collection about that young woman, whose flight from a small southern town to NYC goes unexplained, is as moving a contribution to the Me Too movement as anything I've read. I look forward to reading everything that she has written, including Imaginary Men, which just arrived! Margaret Travers

Vintage china pattern Mandalay

The china pattern Mandalay by Hutschenreuther has unusual colors of purple, orange, blue, green and brown and an unusual floral pattern that is not quite symmetrical. It coordinates with another Hutschenreuther pattern called something like Maria Theresia, which has many serving pieces. I have found both on ebay from time to time and have purchased both on ebay and from Replacements.
