Availability
The quantity of batteries removes the problem of going to stores and finding supplies out or very limited. Going to the mail box is much easier than trips to retail outlets particularly when they often do not have them in stock.

Easily paired with in fan control unit
my old remote dropped and broke. The replacement pairs with the Hampton Bay fan/light by copying the 4 switch positions from the broken unit which is easily accomplished. Beats buying a complete system that requires replacing in fan control unit.
