BMW 3-Series F34 Tow Hook License Plate Bracket INSTALL TIPS
2014 and newer BMW 3-Series F34 Tow Hook License Plate Bracket had great instructions and nice hardware. I did not use the provided spacers. I ordered a cheaper product and was not as pleased.
For best results, I recommend the following:
Use a socket set to install 17MM and Allen head sockets. You can not apply enough tork with the Allen wrenches provided.
Wrap all threads with Teflon tape (plumbers tape). This will protect you tow hook receiver from corrosion and your connections will be tighter. Lock-tite may be useful for the smaller screws.
I highly recommend using 3M (model 38582) Exterior Attachment Tape with some spacers to prevent the plate holder from rotating. This is especially needed if you are installing it like I did (overhung). See my pics.
