Professors Swan Song
1 of 5 found this helpful There are a total of 6 Professor Layton games and this is the last of the series. It is also the only one released specifically for the 3DS. The gameplay is the same as always, combining a ton of puzzles with a story of mystery in a semi-steam punk world where things are always a little different. So, if you enjoyed any of the others, you will also enjoy this one.
What sets this one apart are the stunning 3d visuals; you can tell a lot of care has gone into them. The style is cartoony, as expected, but the settings are designed in just the right way to really benefit from the 3D effects. Add to the fact that this type of game encourages you to take your time and enjoy the scenery, makes this the most enjoyable visuals I have ever experienced in a game.
The puzzles, for the most part are adequate. After literally over a thousand puzzles from the previous games, it seems the quality of puzzles have dropped just a bit. However, it more than makes up for it with quantity, and with a less linear story line.

RGP + Soccer = Win
This is an innovative game that combines the basic elements of an RPG with a real time soccer game.
Level 5 does their usual excellent job of creating a story line compelling enough to enhance gameplay, but basic enough to not get in the way.
As you progress through the story, your team will grow in number and in skill, resulting in more strategic matches.
The soccer gameplay is innovative as well, focusing more on management of the game. This allows for those an enjoyable game without having to worry about learning complicated moves that other sports games require. Also, special moves result in impressive and rewarding video sequences.
All in all a solid value, it is too bad it is only available in North America as an import or 3DS download.

Good Budget Sci-Fi
Andromeda is what you would expect of syndicated Sci-Fi. Which means if you like it, you will like it. If you don't, well, there are worst ways to spend an idle Sunday afternoon. Season 1 has all the rough edges you would expect of a brand new, low end series. However, the writing is sound, the special effects are not distracting, and there is promise for it to get better. Unfortunately, after the first season, even though the individual episodes get slicker, the whole epic, unavoidable destiny, plot mechanic kicks in. Which, though most people seem to like, I find a tad tiersome and lazy.
All in all, the first season is definitely worth checking out, especially if you have any Sci-Fi leanings. The fact that this season is so hard to find makes watching it all that more enjoyable.
