WOW! These are special. Especially for the price. But even aside from the price, great.
Wow! These headphones are really amazing for the price. Well, they're just outright amazing!
These absolutely need some time set aside to burn them in. Either a burn-in track (they exist on streaming) or just playing music through them at reasonable volume for a couple of nights. They really open up from being too mid-forward to having a huge amount of detail. I have gone from not recommending them to outright recommending them to anyone based on burn-in.
They're still slightly mid-forward but as reference headphones this is not a bad thing. They highlight crude mixes, but sound great when the mix is balanced.
The highs are nice and airy. You can hear so much detail in reverbs tailing off vocals and cymbals sound great. The amount of detail and soundstage is amazing. You hear so much trail coming off instruments that would normally be unnoticeable. Bass is punchy, but also has a great amount of air coming off the woof of a kick. It also reproduces synth really well, detailing all the grit and growl The ring of steel acoustic is amazing. Wow they are really impressive.
So, I can honestly say that you simply will not find better headphones as this price, or anywhere near this price. They're so impressive.
Perhaps one minor gripe is the bass gets a bit lost when there's a lot of noise going on, but that's far from uncommon as the drivers are pushed in so many different directions. They get a bit intense in very chaotic noisy sections in rock and metal, and are a little harsh, but then that's also how a lot of that stuff is mixed. Still quite good.
I thought maybe they'd be too clear with mp3s/lossy audio like most streaming services, highlighting all of the faults, but they don't seem to highlight any harshness, at least with AAC on Apple Music.
Build quality is the only thing that is lacking. The ear pads are like thin deflated tyres. Very odd. So they compress too much and let your ears slightly rest on the driver casing. My ears get a little uncomfortable after about 20 minutes. I'll probably buy some velour or felt ear pads. Also, the cable is quite stiff and not replaceable. I'm expecting at some point to have to open them up with a soldering iron, but time will tell.
I'm testing on a 2022 MacBook Pro, which has a higher output headphone amp than earlier Macs, so these are getting driven fairly well. I'm not sure how they'll fair on less powerful headphone amps like other laptops or phones. They should do well on any stereo or studio headphone output. I'll test them on my SSL2+ when I get around to it.

Great umbrella. Very well designed
The mechanism is very good, the design is very beautiful and minimal, and it seems very strong. I had this for over one year. I lost it and would buy it again definitely. Very tidy.

Top quality
These are much better than the previous ones I bought. Half the size so easier to swallow and twice as many in the jar. I don't think they have a fishy tasty like the others I had.
