Kenny makes you feel right at home.
1 of 1 found this helpful This is Kenny Burrell in his best West-Coast "jazz-blues" style with some great support personnel. It's not turly straight ahead be-pop (which Kenny can also play) but smooth ballad material, like the label says. You'll hear many of Kenney's most identifiable stylistic techniques, and it will make you feel right at home with this CD.

5 For Freddie- Bucky Pizzarelli
1 of 1 found this helpful I proud to say that I am rhythm guitar player in several big bands, and I like to think that I play in the "Freddie Green" style ( or "chunk-chunk" style). This CD is a real lesson in that style of playing; that is sometimes also called 4-4 playing; that is 4 chords to the bar and four inversions for each sustained chord. Freddie Green was the master of this style of playing, and the liner notes help explain his method of playing this way at very fast tempos. Bucky Przzarelli is one of the best practitioners of this nearly lost art, as he easily demonstrates on this CD. Most of the tunes are at moderate or slow tempos so you can really appreciate the sound of the rhythm guitar. However, listen to track 13 if you want to hear how this style sounds at a typical Count Basie tempo. The sound is a perfect compliment to, and adds a bit of harmony to, the walking bass line. If you play rhythm guitar, or just love the swinging big-band sound, buy this CD first, then listen to as much Freddie Green as you can find. Good Luck.

Best glasses ear piece design.
I worn these in the air force for 8 years. The earpieces are designed to slip along the side of your head and stay on while wearing ear-phones, or a crash helmet. Now that I'm wearing my hair longer, I like them because they slip on-off without making you look like Bozo-the- Clown with your hair standing out above the ears. The only negative I have is that I wish they would make them with modern hinges that spring back if the earpieces are opened too wide.
