Does What It Is Designed To Do
I just installed this product and so far after a week, I am happy. It does slow down the rate of the tailgate's descent which is want I wanted. Having watched several on-line videos before I bought it, it appears there are varying levels of resistance in this product. I don't know if this is due to production variations or what. I do wish mine had a little more resistance than it does.
However, it does do the job. I just hope it doesn't lose pressure over time. If you read the installation instructions carefully, and follow them as presented, you shouldn't have any installation issues. I didn't. Additionally, the product looks well built and solid. I wish they would have included how to disengage the product for those times when I have to remove the tailgate. I'm sure I'll figure it out.
