Steep learning curves
You will need help setting this up for ham radio use. You tube or another operator. So far I have heard some traffic but no contacts.

Been there done that
For the money it is a good radio. No it is not a Japanese radio but you are not paying a high price. Its disposable. Gets stolen or lost? Not out much. Doubtful I would like this when I lived on Fire Towe Hill. Not selective enough.
