Portable Washing Machine 8-9lbs Dorm Camping RV Compact Laundry Spin Dry Cycle
    May 13, 2018
Eh, it gets the job done
Note that this machine is pretty much all manually operated, which is fine. If you want to get clothes washed without doing it by hand, this will work. This item came to my house early yesterday. There was a little gunk/mold on the spin basket, probably from humidity in shipping from China. A plastic bristle brush did quick work of that. I did a small load of laundry in it and it washed the load fairly well. I washed a shirt, three pairs of socks, and underwear. The washing aspect of this unit can handle double that, but the spin basket was full with this amount. The wattage of this unit was about 160 watts (off and on) during the first wash. It climbed to about 180 watts during rinse for some reason. Spin was around 180 watts too. This may be related to the motor getting hot. A note, all the ventilation for the electric motor is on the bottom of the machine. Do not block those holes. I might even consider adding more holes to let the air flow. I say this because the plastic where the motor is did get a bit hot during spin cycle. This may or may not be due to lack of airflow, don't know. Plastic and hot electric motors don't usually go together very well. Washing isn't all that noisy but spinning is. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't get the spin basket balanced so the machine tried to dance around and make a lot of noise like a drunken teenager, but it did spin much of the water out of the clothes to where they were just damp. A lot better than hand-wringing. I did notice that there is a small leak in the center bottom. Probably the seal between the tub and agitator shaft, but haven't looked at it. Due to electric motor placement, this leak "shouldn't" be an issue. Just don't put the machine on anything that could be damaged by water (I put mine on the bathroom sink). An issue, the hose that comes with it for filling the machine with water is way too short to be useful for anything but making noise by blowing into it like a kid. I had to fill the machine with a container. No biggie, but this hose is useless. If it were 2-3 times longer, it might be useful. Another issue, don't fill the machine up to or past the "H" mark on the inside or you will have water come out the drain tube during wash. The drain hose could be a little longer and that would fix this. Some redneck engineering would fix this as well. Another issue was during final rinse. This is when I noticed the little leak I spoke about earlier. I think it also made the belt that drives the agitator a little wet which made it begin slipping. Only other issue I had was the machine stunk up the place a little. I can't quite put my finger on what the smell was, but it probably was the smell of the plastic from the factory mixed with a hot electric motor and maybe a brushed motor, not sure. When you go to use it for the first time, let it air or ventilate the area. With some modifications, this unit would be really nice. I bet most of the cost is the electric motor as everything else is plastic. They say you get what you pay for, I say, I have no problem doing slight fixes and mods on really cheap items if they can do what I need them to do. I needed a way to make washing clothes easier and cheaper. This unit will do the trick.

    Excellent
Title says minimally damaged, I can't find any damage. Even if there were damage to the package, it wouldn't bother me. The cards are in new condition.

Works on Linux (Debian 9 tested)
Good price, it works, and works on Linux for those wondering. I tested it on Debian 9 and it works well with my bluetooth speaker.
