Used PS3
I'm buying this PS3 for my 5 yr old as his "first" game system. Easy to use, setting up Wi-Fi connections was fairly simple. Games can be downloaded directly on the system, or purchased separately on discs. Wireless controllers are handy as well.

Kindle Fire
These are the perfect "beginner" tablets. Get a good soft rubber case, if you plan on letting kids use it. I love that you can set up an adult account, and then choose what options & apps you want available for your "child" account. 8gb storage isn't much, but you can always purchase a memory card for more storage.. Great tablet for the price.

Real Farming Experience
We live out in the country, and my 5 year old son is obsessed with farming. This game is fun and easy enough for him to drive all the tractors, trailers, planters, etc. with only a little help reading the prompts. There are challenges that pop up on the screen, but they are easily dismissed, and my son can happily work on his farm doing whatever he would like!
Our only very small complaint is the color of the grass in the game!! We would love to see green grass, not the weird burnt color ;)
