SUMATRA ESPRESSO DARK ROASTED COFFEE BEANS 5 POUNDS IN 1 POUND BAGS

Not bad but not exceptional beans

I use a Bialetti espresso maker for a few decades because I like a robust coffee to get my day going. I'd have to rate these beans as producing a medium body with a slightly acidic palate, not quite as smooth as claimed. I previously obtained my beans from a roaster in Seattle when I lived in Oregon; he sold excellent dark-roasted Sumatra beans until they produced a nice oily sheen; the palate was very rich and flavorful, and the aromas exceptional. Unfortunately, the owner retired and the beans are no longer available. Alas, I will continue my search for exceptional beans for my morning brew.
