Casemaster GLD-51-0700-03 Q Vault Supreme Billiard/Pool Cue Stick Case, Blue

    Casemaster Cue Carrier
I've played pool on and off for a little over 30 years (I'm no pro, but I can certainly hold my own) and finally pulled the trigger on a starter cue and carrier with some accessories. I wasn't looking to spend crazy $$ for some of the carriers out there; I just wanted something simple and that would do the job. Fit and finish are pretty good for the price. After seeing the pictures of wear/tear on these, I got a little squeamish but went ahead and bought one anyway. The main body has a hard plastic tube under the leatherette covering; there are no plastic 'endcaps' on the tube, just the leatherette and a rubberized foam under it on each end which was a bit of a disappointment. The ends could wear through to the point where the cue halves could exit the carrier; I only play once or twice a week and certainly won't abuse the carrier, but for the price I guess the lack of true endcaps would be expected. The zippers open and close smoothly. There is a neoprene sleeve inside meant to separate the cue halves; this does not have dedicated pockets or a pre-molded insert with hollows for each halve like other carriers do. The padding and lining inside should suffice for simple storage and transport of most any cue and accessories. The carrier holds my Viking Valhalla (yeah, the Chinese-built cue) perfectly; some people have reported some of the Vikings were too long to fit but the VA103 fits just fine. The side pouch carries my Cuetec bowtie and extra Predator chalk. Keep in mind that the pouch is attached to a sleeve that rides on the carrier itself; it is not sewn in or affixed to the tube, so you can slide it up and down the length of the carrier into different positions (or remove it entirely). The shoulder strap is simple but short in adjustable length; I might just clip both ends to the top D-ring and shorten the strap for simplified carrying so it doesn't stress either end and start pulling the stitching out like you might have seen in the other pictures people have posted. I also stuffed paper into the pouch to help expand it a bit as it was a bit smushed from shipping. Either way, it's a good starter cue carrier. I gave it 4 stars because of the lack of true endcaps for better protection. I may edit/update this review as time goes on to report any abnormal wear.
TOAKS Titanium 1100ml Pot with Pan CKW-1100 - Outdoor Camping Bowl Pot Pan

    Toaks CKW-1100
I already have the 750mL cup/pot and wanted something a little larger to go with it so I could boil water and cook food at the same time without having to use the same pot. The 750 (inside its orange bag) nests quite nicely inside the 1100; I am able to put a 100g butane can inside of the 750 with that inside of the 1100. Plenty of room for other stuff. I'm still putting my pack together for a coyote hunt in the coming weeks, and am very happy with this setup.
Safe Tech Viscoflex Shoulder Armor CE Level 2 for Scorpion Jackets

    Viscoflex CE Level 2 pads
I bought 2 sets of shoulder pads and 2 sets of elbow pads to outfit an old Icon Merc jacket (10+ years old) and a brand new Bilt Blaze jacket. The Merc factory inserts had literally disintegrated and rotted away, as the OEM rubber inserts usually do. Both sets fit great in both jackets, although the elbow pads were a little snug in the Bilt jacket elbow slots/pockets. After squeezing them and moving them around, they seemed to settle in. The pads are flexible yet firm, and they don't make it awkward to move around. These were the same price as the Icon D30 Level 1 pads, so why not go for the next step up? Hopefully I'll never have to 'test' these pads but I feel they should do the job just fine as they are CE certified.
