Handsome and Cuddly
Here's a great throw for just about any interior - bedroom to living room. Nice neutral colors, but still with the Laurel Burch touch. Excellent quality.

Story About Ping is a Delightful Book
I've had a copy of the Story About Ping for over 40 years, and it was always a favorite with my children. Recently, I read it to a little Chinese boy who was adopted by Chinese-American parents. Naturally, he loved it, and I felt it was a tiny connection to his Chinese heritage. So of course, I had to get him his own copy for Christmas. At age five, he's able to read this book for himself - with a little help (a VERY bright boy.)
Your children, American or Chinese or anything, will love this book, too. It's a simple tale of a little duck who gets lost from his large family of ducks who live on the Wise-Eyed Boat on the Yangtze River - and finds his way home. A different culture, different customs, but the message of home and family is universal. Children love the illustrations, too. This would work for children from four to about ten, I think.

Prismacolor Gift was the Hit of Christmas
My art-loving daughter was beyond thrilled to receive this fabulous set of Prismacolor Colored Pencils. We all tried to think of a color that isn't included, and were not successful - it's all there. And, as my son-in-law pointed out, if you want to color an avocado, it's no help at all to just have Lime Green, Leaf Green, and Mint Green. My daughter also told me that all the Prismacolor Pencils are available as open stock at many art stores. So, if you just love Cherry Red, and use it up, you can replace that one pencil. The Prismacolor quality is well-established, so I don't need to reiterate that.
