Huion 1060P tablet on 2018 iMac Mojave OS
Huion 1060P tablet, my first drawing tablet. Got interested in playing with photos and while learning the software, saw plenty of info. about tablets, so I though I would give one a try. Read lots of reviews, decided to look for a mid to low priced one and got this one used. After carefully reading instructions, and a few forum-type support articles, I downloaded the driver on my iMac desktop, made the few necessary adjustments and it works perfectly. Part of the learning curve is "drawing" or manipulating the screen with a pen-like interface while not looking directly at the pen. It's an adjustment, but getting easier with practice. Can't compare to others, but this one lives up to my expectations as a beginner. Cheaper than the industry "standard" brand, but so far so good for my limited needs.

Comparable to the full Helix units.
I already have a Helix rack unit, and I was looking for a smaller footprint to easily carry. The Hx Stomp has the same effects and simulations as the bigger units, but with some limitations, which those interested can look up. However, the sounds are pretty much exactly the same - really like this thing.

Lots of functions, lots of learnin'
The Harmony Elite with hub has lots of possibilities. After programming, it can accomplish lots of complex, multi-command activities. It is, however, not easy to program. There is a learning curve that isn't insurmountable if a person isn't afraid of modern computer usage. I think some of the problems that do occur are because this product interfaces with products from many other manufacturers. This creates the need for the user to understand many of the functions and different terminology from other TVs, game systems, tuners, cable or satellite boxes. Next is the occasional challenges with bluetooth connections. When that works, it's awesome. Unfortunately, at least for me, it will sometimes mysteriously decide to not work, causing some reprogramming. Almost always a simple reboot type fix. I'm willing to put in the work to get it to do all of the crazy stuff it's able to do, but I don't want to do that on a continuous basis. I bought it to simplify - four or five remotes gets crazy, and this thing does replace almost all of them. Continuous reprogramming and recovery is not simplification, just a different kind of hassle from using multiple remotes. Overall a great idea, and when there are zero small issues, works as advertised. Only had it a month, and still learning a few things. Hoping any user errors are smoothed out as I learn to program it more effectively. Definitely not plug and play, but right now I'm confident it will be worth the effort. TBD.
