Hofner 'CT' Club Bass vs Hofner 'Ignition' Club Bass
1 of 1 found this helpful Only a few days ago, I purchased a New Hofner 'Ignition' CLUB Bass. While it sports a beautiful 3-Colour 'burst AND Pearloid headstock inlay, it doesn't hold a candle (?) to the slightly more expensive - in this particular 'Demo' purchase situation - 'Contemporary', or 'CT', Club Bass.
Although the subdued two-tone 'burst finish isn't as eye-catching as on the 'Ignition' Club Bass, EVERYTHING else is far superior. The Sound Block ( inside the Body ) helps both the Voicing of the Upgraded Pickups (!) as well as the sustain; and without the 'hollow-body-howl' of the Ignition model.
The Neck is a three-piece structure, and the Fingerboard is nicely bound. Once adjusted, the Neck stays where you want it ( this, depending on how much 'bow' you care for ).
Also, the 'CT' series are shipped with a Hard Case; although this is irrelevant to the ultimate Playability and Sound.
There's no way I can justify the expense of a 'real' Hofner Bass, regardless of body style ( $2500 +/- ), but if you're looking for a truly GOOD, less expensive version of this historic Merseyside Instrument, you'll be glad that you searched for your best deal on the 'CT' series Hofner Bass.

Eastman Rosewood Acoustic Guitars
I own 12 acoustic guitars; 7 Martins, 3 Eastman solid Rosewood, and two other makers. The Eastman Acoustics are incredibly well-crafted - easily compare/surpass any other Guitars on the market.
The prices are absolutely justified in relation to Craftsmanship, Playability,
and Voicing. Also, these Solid Rosewood ( sides & back ) Guitars surpass those 'Top Of The Market' guitars, and are a fraction of the price.

Simple to use, and it properly FITS your Strat' !
A good number of allen wrenches - of THIS SIZE - will properly adjust the Truss Rod of your American Fender Stratocaster. BUT . . . !, the long sides of this particular 'wrench will provide you with 2 very important qualities:
1 ) This 'correct length' allen tool wil reach down into the truss rod channel without scraping against the wood of the peghead. The 'normal' right-angle allen tools are just barely long enough to fit into the truss rod nut, and when you're searching for that fitment, it's very likely that the run-of-the-mill allen tool will scrape and scratch the wood around the truss rod channel.
This one is long enough to clear that channel opening.
2 ) For around 2 bucks, you can rest assured that this tool WILL fit properly into the five-sided truss 'nut. There's no chance that you'll 'booger up' the brass ( a relatively soft metal ) with an allen tool that sorta' fits. If the tool you're using is just a bit loose in the hex nut, you'll fairly quickly round-off the inside corners. Once this is done, you and your Stratocaster will have a date at the local Luthier shop. It's virtually impossible to take out a stripped hexagonal truss rod nut.
So, buy this tool. Proceed GENTLY whenever using it. Your Strat' will last forever.
