Lasts about an hour
It works, but does not hold its charge very long - about 1 hour is all I get on my MacBook Pro if not connected to charger. That is no better than the old battery that I took out.

Still excellent value for money
I bought this as a 7-year-old used item for a friend because it seemed excellent value for money. The model I received is clean and well cared-for. It has good storage capacity and very fast processor. The display is great, without the peeling that sometimes sets in when a macbook reaches this age. I like that it has all the useful ports, like USB, audio, HDMI, SD card, which were inexplicably discontinued on more recent models.

A good basic laptop
This is a good solid basic machine. I bought it used, as a first computer for a friend in a remote part of Africa who needs something simple and reliable, because I know these have a good track record there, and local techs are more familiar with them than with Macs (which are my own preference). It has a large bright screen, trackpad as well as pointer button, a simple keypad, good connectivity (built in wi-fi, ports for ethernet, phone, s-video,standard AV, printer, audio mini-jacks, 4 USB ports, PCMCIA card slot, built in CD/DVD player) and enough speed and storage for average needs.
