does not work in my car

I bought this ipod because my car has an ipod jack, so i can listen to music from the ipod, my old ipod works. This ipod has different connector doesn't fit in my car, I bought an adapter, still can not see who is playing on my car screen, and can not change songs, but, I do hear music, and able to use the volume control. As far as I feel, I wish i never bought it. It sits, and i wasted my money. Don't waste yours
