depends how you look at it
well it's games workshop so the product is a tad overpriced no matter where you look, but compared to buying everything from their main website separately this product is mostly a steal. you get about 500-600ish points depending on how you equip things in the set, and it is the exact basic start to an army with a little extra of a fast attack added in, or the exact way to run the basics of a d.e. special list compulsory. it's cool, the models are good looking and mostly not TOO bad for assembly difficulty (outside of the raider ughhhh horrible for non-modelers and a pain for casual modelers...), and gets you started on one of the longest running miniatures war games to date. I'd recommend it if you plan on playing dark eldar and are. starting from scratch and have a desire to start with new models as opposed to used. i am glad i snagged one.

awesome models, mixed rules.
Some of the aspects of this kit are a bit fragile... and bladewind is awful to assemble (I couldn't figure it out properly and had to glue it a few ways it may not have been meant to), but each model is really nice in its own right upon completion. The best one, bloodwrack viper, is probably the most durable but will take the longest to assemble. Currently in game, bladewind is only good against like 2 armies unless you play with a lot of uses of cover, but still looks cool as heck. The invocation is currently pretty nice but may not feel worth taking against armies that have a lot of single damage attacks. This could change in aos4.0 but hopefully that's a few years away. If you're a daughters of khaine player, you owe it to yourself to at least consider this box, but I'd say it's a staple so think about it...

soon to be replaced! get while you can!
So it may not seem like the best "value for your money" start collecting box, but the fact it gives you 3 hero options that each can be mounted on the big cauldron I'd kind of nice, and if you're going the direction of the blood wrack shrine, you then get a separate avatar of khaine also is great. And the snake girls are a great kit, fitting on 40mm bases quite nicely, so they are slightly bigger than you might think. I think geedubz could have included a second kit of them in this to make it a better value but ehhh. Hopefully they'll do better with the vanguard box on that, whatever they put into it. Although this box won't be in production much longer so get it while you can.
