Sailor of the King DVD
1 of 1 found this helpful As A kid back in the early 60's, NBC had a show called Saturday Night at the Movies. Apparently, they used a lot of films from the 20th Century Fox vault. "The President's Lady" with Charlton Heston and Susan Hayward, "Desiree" with Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons, were some of the other movies that were showed in that first season. This movie, based on C. S. Forrester's novel "Brown on Resolution", was first made with John Mills in the starring role. This version, with a young, handsome Jeffrey Hunter in the starring role, starts out as a brief encounter love story featuring Michael Rennie and Wendy Hiller. Then it jumps to World War II on a british naval ship combatting a german war ship. The story of heroism and bravery that is told from this point is an incredible telling of overcoming fantastic odds. For an heroic wartime adventure, add this one to your list.

A Very Poor Edition Of A Top Notch Program
0 of 1 found this helpful First of all, this program aired back in 1988 on NBC during one of those sweeps months. It aired OVER TWO NIGHTS, meaning the entire program was over 3 hours long, minus commercial time. This edition , by Vidmark, is only 93 minutes long, so only half the program is shown. The beginning of the program is so chopped up, it's hard to follow any story line. Why any company would do what Vidmark did is beyond me. Hopefully, someone will go into the NBC vault, or where ever this original program is kept, and make the ENTIRE program available in a top notch DVD. It is a shame that companies want to purposely put out an inferior half way product, when fans are looking for and wanting the whole program, and are willing to pay for it.

All Les Paul, All The Time!
For those of you who grew up listening to great guitarists in the 50's and 60's, this collection of Les Paul and Mary Ford is right up your alley! All of his greatest hits are in this collection, including his spectacular arrangement of "How High The Moon". Richard Carpenter (of the Carpenters) once said that Les Paul's arrangement of "How High The Moon" is the quintessential arrangement of that song, no one will be able to top it. I grew up listening to Les Paul and Chet Atkins in the 50's. Here is the ultimate Les Paul collection!
