1 of 1 found this helpful I like this compared to my other similar one because it is more tolerant of motion. Sometimes it will allow me to walk or do other mild exercising, whereas my other one rarely works well in motion. At the same time, have fair expectations: this is a $25 oximeter, so it will not perform like very expensive hospital or professional pulse oximeters. It still requires quite specific conditions to work well--finger has to be moderately warm, it has to be positioned quite accurately, not too much motion, it takes takes longer to begin registering, and sometimes takes a few more seconds to calibrate properly. I also tried one that looked like a big wrist watch connected to the finger cover with a wire and which was supposed to record as well and usually costs about $45-100. I returned it because I didn't use the recording feature, and it didn't work well in motion either.
So, in conclusion, you can buy cheaper ones ($7-20), but for me this is worth the few extra dollars.

Good reasons to pay more for this one.
it is more visible in daylight than a different one I have. Also, it seems to start reading more quickly and reliably, and works better when I am more active--like walking or running.

Powerful, light-weight. Durable, but, in case you need repairs, they are easy to get.
