A better biscuit joiner
I bought a Freud biscuit joiner about 20 years ago. Used it on many project from furniture to cabinetry. Still works well but my youngest son needed some shelves. We used the Freud for what will probably be the last time. This new DeWalt is superior in every we. The fence is easy to adjust with great accuracy thanks to the built in scales. The folding guide is very convenient. And best of all is the switch. Just squeeze the barrel. DeWalt simply put just got it right!

CanoScan LiDE portable scanner
I now have two of these. I keep one at home and the other at work. I do consulting and need a portable office. The CanoScan LiDE 20 has 600x600 resolution and can save in PDF format, it's very thin, draws power direct from the USB cable, and it's relatively quick. What's not to love? OK, so I only scan a few documents a week, and it's mostly text and pencil sketchs of engineering concepts. It does these things well. I't fits my needs perfectly and I recommend it for anyone with similar needs.
