Not exactly what I thought.
I’m disabled so we thought rather then always having to have our phones on us that we could use some light weight easy to clip on to me walkie-talkie’s could really work for us. But sadly these did not. The battery life is not good. They are rechargeable but don’t last long. The distance covered is no where even close to “16 miles” more like 500-700 feet. I know you get what you pay for, but after reading most of the reviews I thought we had found a good fit. Or maybe it was just ours. Idk for sure, but I will say that I am sad they didn’t work out for us. We were really looking for them to at least have the range of 2 maybe 3 miles and the battery life span of the day at least. Considering that they’re only being used for emergencies and what not. I will say on the upside that they’re not cheaply built. So they’d probably be good for kids, young adults (teens) camping or trail walks where everyone is still fairly close to one another. Not miles apart but feet.
