Well built but Electrolytic Caps may fail - but it's an easy repair
There are two critical electrolytic capacitors in the 28V power supply that fail with age. We've had three AP9211's (out of the six we own) fail this way. The good news: the unit is designed for easy repair. Once the cover is off, simply unplug the wires, remove two screws, and slide out the board. There are two large 330uF 63V capacitors that are most likely the problem. You may want to replace some of the other larger ones while you are in there. Once done, you will have a solid reliable until that will operate for many years.

Fits like a glove
This is an exact replacement for the old one. Just unbolted a few screws to remove the old one, and used the same screws to put the new one in. The whole process took less than 30 minutes.

Plug it in, add a cellular modem, and you are off and running!
