Edimax Dual Band AC2600 Wi-Fi Router with MU-MIMO

No frills high output wireless router.
Loving this router so far. I could care less about having direct storage features on a router, and that is what drew me to this unit, no flash drive ports, just AC2600 router. Solved weak signal issues that wrecked my phone features. I tried to set up from 192.168.2.1 in browser, and that was a mistake, just seemed to confuse the menu; when I started over and entered the "h t t p://edi max. setup" it was a piece of cake. Had to update the firmware right off the bat, but, that was easy enough. It has the individual antenna, and terminals, marked for 5ghz, and 2.4ghz, I had not seen that on any make of router before, do not know if it is real or a ruse. Came out of Canada but it arrived quickly, was posted quickly, and to my surprise the USPS hit the target for a change. Footprint is middle of the pack, so, you may have choose your parking spot wisely, and it has some serious antenna. No frills, w p s button, reset, ports, power slot, and it glows red. My first e d i m a x product, and I like it.

CANNOT SAY IF ALL ARE AS NOISY AS THIS ONE. FAN RUNS CONSTANTLY, AND IT SOUNDS AS IF THE HARD DRIVE MAY BE SPINNING AS WELL, THIS IS WITH UNIT TURNED OFF, BUT, PLUGGED IN. TO UNPLUG IT BETWEEN USES WILL DISABLE THE TV GUIDE FUNCTION, AND THAT IS IT BEST FEATURE, AND TV GUIDE TAKES 12-24 HOURS TO LOAD SINCE IT READS LOCAL CABLE DATA TO PERFORM AT ALL. TOSHIBA HAS A FLAT RATE REPAIR OF $170 FOR OUT OF WARRANTY DVR'S; AND, HAVE TO SEND IT TO WEST COAST. PICTURE QUALITY, TUNER, HDD OPTIONS ARE ALL QUITE GOOD, USING COMPONENT CABLES WITH IT, NO HDMI OUTLET.

has been hooked up since arrival without issue, as consistent a product as the Motorola sb6141 it replaced, refurb was an excellent bargain
