06764-SA5-003 1982 to 1989 Honda Accord repairs flopping Mirror
    Aug 17, 2016
My 87 Honda Accord Mirror works agains
Thanks to this great kit, my 1987 Honda Accord hatchback's rearview mirror no longer "flops" around due to the broken internal plastic clamp bar. The kit includes all the parts needed to rebuild your mirror's internals with redesigned elements that are MUCH more robust. The old plastic part that holds down the internal spring bar was notorious for breaking at two narrow weak spots. The new design is much more robust and should stand the test of time. My only difficulty was removing the outer so-called "gasket" that surrounds the glass lense. The included instructions do suggest placing entire mirror assembly in hot water to soften the "gasket." Despite doing this, I found removing the "gasket" extremely challenging due to the way Honda designed the teeth/latch system that allows the "gasket" to snap into place on the mirror frame body. I suggest using VERY hot water to try and soften the "gasket" as best you can. Go slowly. I managed to crack my "gasket" and had to use superglue to repair it before reinstallation. Mirror works great now. If I had it to do over again, I think I might try a heat gun to soften the plastic gasket in selective areas to try and aid in removal. It is a stubborn cuss to remove "gasket!" Please note that the kit itself is fantastic! If you can get the mirror apart, this kit will solve the floppy mirror problem. Good luck getting "gasket" off and back on though:-)

Utilitech In Wall Timer #0192773 Daylight Saving New. 10

Slightly older timer version, but works great
I bought this to replace a very similar Utilitech timer. This one turned out to be an older version, but is similar enuf that I'm happy This one has pig-tail leads which made install a little more complex. The one I was replacing allowed wiring to be directly inserted. Also this unit has much dimmer backlite than my failed unit. Still usable, but a bit harder to read...

Exact magnetron for my Sharp 1100 watt microwave
Exact replacement magnetron for my 20 year old Sharp 1100W microwave. I enjoyed repairing on my own and hope I'll get another 20 years out of the oven.
