Great set of tires, delivered promptly and for a rock bottom price.
1 of 1 found this helpful Very pleased with the initial quality of the tires. Of course, one of the most important characteristics of tires is durability, so I'll have to reserve final judgment for a bit.

Stay Out of the Crime Genre, Steve
0 of 4 found this helpful Lifelong fan of the honorable Mr. King, and I think he's a fine human being in addition to a brilliant author. Having read and reread virtually everything he's ever written, however, I find that he has difficulty transitioning to genres outside of horror, and that is certainly the case with "Mr. Mercedes." The lead character, retired detective Bill Hodges, is hackneyed and unremarkable, and the villain, Brady Hartfield, is predictable and, frankly, too familiar. At the same time, Hartfield is unbelievable in his dual personality of good, subservient minimum-wage ice cream man/computer whiz, and bitter, psychotic killer.
One of the central plot questions revolves around how Hartfield gained access to the Mercedes he used to kill several people in a crowd at an employment fair. King devotes way too much time to this question, and the ultimate answer is neither surprising nor particularly interesting.
I was also disappointed in the sexual relationship that develops between Hodges and the much younger sister of one of Hartfield's victims. It is unrealistic and poorly developed, and it feels like maybe King is falling into the trap of many aging male authors who want to remind us that they are still sexually desirable.
Pass on this one and read "Dr. Sleep" twice instead--that's a true King masterpiece.

Thoroughly Modern Millie
0 of 5 found this helpful I bought this travesty because I'm directing the stage version next spring and wanted to show it to my cast. What a huge disappointment! The normally wonderful Julie Andrews is completely miscast in the title role (where did that girl from a small Kansas town get that British accent?) Mary Tyler Moore plays Miss Dorothy as if she's on heroin. Worst of all, the woman who plays the evil Mrs. Miers has NO BAD CHINESE ACCENT?!! This is completely integral to the character. AHHHHHH! The singing is done primarily in voice over, with little 1960's alterations (poo-poo-de-doo) tossed in, and there is a blatant attempt by the director to show off what he learned at film school by throwing in every cheap segue wipe he can find. After watching 45 minutes with no discernible plot, I'll admit that I turned it off, so I'm only reviewing that much--but then, I really hate throwing up.
