Best tea kettle ever!
We saw this item in a pricey kitchen store and fell in love with the style. We were so happy to find it here! The kettle is solidly built and heavy (as opposed to the cheap style made with thin metal). The body is completely smooth with no seam at the bottom. The cover is easy to remove and replace, and it's easy to pour water in from the faucet. The interior is enameled as well as the outside. Our stove is gas and the water boils quickly, causing the whistle to gradually ramp up from a little polite whistle to a loud insistent whistle, but it's never shrill nor does it hurt my ears.
But, the very BEST feature of this kettle is the handle! When you lift the kettle from the stove, the weight of the body causes the spout cover to automatically pop open, allowing you to pour. Then, when you set the kettle back down, the cover goes back into place over the spout. There is no fiddly little lever to push or pull, and the padded handle is very comfortable, and does get warm, but has never gotten too hot to pick up. The kettle is also very easy to keep clean by wiping with a soft sudsy cloth. We highly recommend this kettle!

Perfect little mixer!
This little hand mixer works great! I love the coated beaters, they really cut down on noise. I've used stand mixers for around 40 years and really wish I had gotten a hand mixer long ago. When the attachments and cord are stored in the plastic case with the mixer snapped on top, it is a small footprint and fits easily in my cabinet. This also makes it quick and convenient to grab and use. When you first turn it on, it has a slow start which means no flour flying up in your face and no splatters (as long as the beaters are submerged in the liquid!). Then there are several speeds that you can cycle through. The flat bottom sits nicely on the counter when you have to stop to add ingredients, and the beaters pop out easily with the trigger in the handle. When I need to purchase a wedding gift, I will definitely consider getting a Hamilton Beach mixer!

A Great Book!
3 of 3 found this helpful I had seen this book in my local public library and knew I had to own a copy. It is a wonderful pattern book for knitters who prefer to knit in the round, as opposed to traditional back-and-forth knitting. There is quite a diversity of patterns and they are well written and easy to follow. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to break out of the traditional knitting mode and learn a really quick and fun technique.
