Works as Promised
We bought this thermometer/timer to replace an older Polder we'd had for many years. The original was still working but had developed two problems (the plastic screen over the display would fall off until we glued it back in place and the display no longer stood upright) so we decided it was time for a replacement. This is the identical, older version of the thermometer/timer with the braided cable which we wanted because I'd read that some folks have had problems with the newer style cable. Both the thermometer and timer work well. The buzzer is loud (and beeps as you set each minute and hour which can be annoying for some) but it's a classic, workhorse and I'm glad we found the old style. I would have liked an on-off switch but that's a relatively minor problem.

Nice selection of sizes
These are lightweight and strong. Like that they are designed to be reused.

Simple but Effective
This boot dryer works well and is very quiet when operating which is a big plus. The only reason I didn't award it 5 stars is because there is no on-off switch on the unit which I consider to be a major flaw. Unless you purchase a separate on/off switch (available at the hardware store), this means you have to plug and unplug it from the wall each time you want to use it which limits where it can be placed or requires the use of an extension cord.
