Some Production Issues
I ordered Act Your Age and 3 Geezers, which share the same storyline. That being of an actor who is researching senior men and their lifestyles for a character he wishes to play
in a theatrical/movie production. Act Your Age is the better of the two, because the ending
brings out what should have been developed earlier in the script for the actors. Distaste for
the aged drove the unemployed actor to resist the study, however, once involved, his attitude changed, as he had an influence on those in the nursing home environment. Act Your Age develops the story with far less distasteful language and behavior than does 3 Geezers. Pat Morita has a much larger role in Act Your Age, than Tim Allen does in 3 Geezers.
The greatest fault I could find in Act Your Age was the slow start to develop the story, and by the unconvincing fact that the young actor really needed a proper wig to convince those around him of his so called age. That he wore the same costume throughout most of
the movie detracted and slowed the development to persuade others in the nursing home of his right to be there. The premise was realized and made the point in a very fine ending.
3 Geezers did not and was filled with raunch throughout, an even worst script, and disgust at the end. The main character in 3 Geezers was never seen in age makeup, and that destroyed the effort to sit through the charade which called itself a movie Two stars for Act Your Age and minus two stars for 3 Geezers.

Enchantment in Sound
This recording has the most charming and engaging music, which has been provided by two exceptional pianists. Rachmaninoff seems to be under appreciated, particularly the opening piece, which is captivating every time I hear it. It ranks among my most favorite pieces, and these musicians truly do it justice in their recreation of those fabulous notes of music. I couldn't recommend this recording more highly to any who enjoy piano duo performances.

Different, but in a good way!
Liberties were taken with the original version, however, the scope of this production expands the ideas behind the period in a vivid and somewhat rewarding way. The characters, of course, are engaging, given the talents of the casting crew. My only complaint with this version is that the credits go by too fast. It would have been helpful if the actor's role had a timely spaced name under it, to make clear the individual talents of this company of actors. Having bought the second series, I had to have the part one, and now the subsequent parts. Costuming is imaginative, if not authentic looking. The swordplay and battle scenes are a credit to the advisors. The Czech setting looks convincing as well, and the music supports the action.
