If you are buying this solely because you saw the TV adaptation...you will be sorely disappointed.
0 of 3 found this helpful First...if you ARE looking at this because you liked the TV adaptation...the book story bears virtually no similarity to the TV story. There are characters that are in both, but the plot (if one can call it that) is only similar in that it is an alternate history story where America lost WWII...past that...not much else. The plot itself is about as interesting as watching paint dry...it meanders at a docile pace through the daily and exceedingly mundane lives of the characters. The writing style is frequently incoherent and hard to follow as though the author were simply writing down every random thought that popped into his head...regardless of their actual importance or relevance to the story itself. If you are a die hard PKD fan...than maybe this one is for you...other than that...a tabloid news paper would be more entertaining!

Blast from the Past!
This was the first model kit I ever built when I was 5 or 6 with my dad. Back then, I had no skills and only white Elmer's glue...when I found this kit again, I knew I had to do it again right this time. Fit up is good, all parts fit together nicely and there was little flash that had to be removed. Paint call outs are fairly good and a little bit of research on line (Google Images) can turn up some very good pictures of the real deal so that you can make this kit as realistic and true to the original as possible. The base is a bit tricky and I was unable to complete per instructions when I was a kid, but this time around I had proper supplies and a lot more experience and it came out fine (the base is the capsule and the astronaut is supported by his umbilical attached to the capsule). There is at least one YouTube video that I found walking you through the build step by step, but the instructions are clear enough that you don't really need it.
