This is a good DIY project to improve performance.

Pros: Nicely put together and inexpensive. Cons: Blind as a bat for detecting ordinary objects like a human hand. Range limited to abut 4 inches unless using an object that is highly IR reflective. Use a mirror and the range of detection can be over 3 feet.

It's a right handed world...

If you're a lefty, this mouse is NOT for you. The side buttons are too easily toggled by fingers not on the mouse body. I like the idea of the side buttons since they act to toggle the left / right arrows in the header bar in a window which speeds up moving between past and present displays in a window. The only other problem I encountered was that the rate button (top center of mouse) failed to function after a few clicks... but what did I expect for such a cheap price...? Else the mouse works as advertised... for a right handed individual. I will give mine to friends as gifts. GL

12vdc fan

The 12vdc fan I purchased is 70x70x10mm which fit my application on a linear power supply design. The fan is quiet and a good value and it is of adequate size to cool the heat sink required to maintain pass transistor thermal specifications. The fan arrived within the estimated time frame and was well packaged to prevent damage in route. Thanks.
