Collapsible Screw-In Rubber Lens Hood 49mm

Very Cheaply Made... but works... For How Long, is the Problem.

This Lens Hood would be Fine if it had "Metal Threads" on the Mount... instead it has "Cheap Plastic"... (not even Good Plastic, and I know the Difference) I Checked the Boxes... Do Not Recommend... Not a Good Value... and Not Good Quality... Because all of these Are True. I don't Recommend Buying it, because over time, these "Plastic Threads" will wear out, and it will "Cross Thread", and at that point it will go in the Trash. - - Lens Hoods need to go on and come off, very Frequently, and Even the First Time mounting this Hood, you have to be Very Careful to Start Screwing it on "Backwards" at first, until you feel the Threads Mesh, before you start to Screw it on normally... This Item Will Not Last long. - I have Many Similar Lens Hoods for lenses in my Camera Bag... Some are 30+ years old, and still Work like New, as they are "Quality" made, with Metal Threads. It is Not a "Good Value"... as I would expect that for What I Paid, I would end up with a "Quality Product" but that was not the case... This Hood should have sold for $3.00... as that IS all that it is worth. It is Not "Good Quality"... and I think I addressed that in the "I do Not Recommend" part of this Review. There ARE Still "Quality Made" Rubber Lens Hood out there, and Available here on eBay, as I just Bought another to Replace "This One"... but you have to ask the Seller, (most of which are Clueless as they are just a "Drop Ship" front, and Never even See the items they sell, no less Have one in their Possession to Inspect.) I would Return it to the Seller for a Refund... but it is Not worth the Trouble of Dealing with "eBay's Ridicules Return System"... and all of the "Clueless Customer Service" agents on the Phone, who Simply Recite "Chapter and Verse", to you... "eBay's Return Policy". Do Yourself a Favor... Go to Amazon, and buy one made by JJC... and if you have a Problem with it, you'll have a "No Hassle Return", or an "Instant Refund" for an inexpensive item like this... With One Phone Call! - - Because Amazon actually Backs the "Buyer"... Not the "Seller" as it is on eBay, and Every Item they sell has the Best Refund Policy on the Planet... They Back their Items 100%, Even when Purchased for another "Seller" on Amazon, and Not Amazon selling the item. Which was the Case with the "Replacement" Rubber Hood that I got a Great Deal on, from a "Seller" on their site. Huge Difference in Quality, and if it wasn't I'd have my money back in 24 hours... Take My Advice... Don't Buy "This One"... go there, and Buy the Good One, and not worry about a Return. :)

Not up to Speed...

Would be a Great Drive if it did what it Clams to do... Unfortunately it Does Not. This is "Supposed" to be a 12x Burner... Using Various Burning Software, including the Best Available... "Ashampoo Burning Studio" v21. This Pioneer Burner lists as a 4x Burner! Using Various Blank Media including 6x 12x and Dual Layer, it will Never show up with availability to burn Any BD Media faster than 4x. I feel like I am back in 1999 running Windows 2000, burning a CD that took 27 minutes... as that IS Exactly how long it takes to burn 23.2 gb to a BD Disc @ 4x speed. So for My Usage... Pretty Worthless! Only Good thing is it Plays Blu-Ray Discs just fine. ...but for Burning it is a Snail. : (

Good Concept, but Poor Quality Material

You can Get this to work... maybe... Really Hard to get Tight Enough, and in the Right Place... Should be a Metal Ring. The Plastic Ring Jumps Threads, and Cross-Threads... making you play with it for hours. I got Blisters on my Fingers trying to Tighten, and UN-tighten the Cross Thread, and Start Over, trying to get it in the Right Place, so when the Hood is put on using the Bayonet, the Hood ends up where it needs to be. The Larger these are, the More Problem you will have... 67mm is almost impossible, but 49mm not so much. If the Threaded Rings were Metal, it would work nice an easy the First Time. Just Buy a Good "Vintage" Rubber Lens Hood, with a Metal Ring... Even the New "Rubber Hoods" have a Plastic Ring.
